FOLLOW-UP TO OPEN LETTER
Dear Everyone,
The Open Letter we posted recently on the realities of clothing recycling caused quite a stir. Our main takeaway is people want to know what actions they can take next.
Firstly, we’ll say it again:
Put all your clothing in bins, not just damaged: it allows large scale clothing recycling to exist
Secondly:
If your community doesn’t have bins, there’s a possibility they are outlawed. This is equivalent to outlawing any kind of traditional recycling. You can help fix this widespread problem by lobbying your local municipality
THE ACTION:
Take and send what we’ve created to your municipal leaders (see below). We have created an email you can copy and paste directly. We’ve also created an FAQ about clothing bins.
We hope this helps get a conversation started in your community and helps keep more clothes out of the trash. Need assistance using these bin advocating tools, we want to know! info@helpsy.co
Best,
